    I have a Husqvarna Z454XS that does not have that baffle installed or they don’t even manufacture one for it. My cut is awesome but the spreading out of grass sucks because it clumps like you said, wonder if I could make one myself or buy one from another manufacturer and modify it to work for my deck.

    I feel like pulling the factory striping kit (rubber flap) off would change the air flow dynamics that were original engineered into this deck. Considering a properly leveled deck has the rear 1/4” higher, and the rubber flap is attached to the back of the deck and hangs lower that the weldment, you would be opening up an inlet, so to speak, in the rear that Ferris engineering didn’t design for. This is based off my understanding that the striping kit is standard on ICD deck, unless that incorrect. Thoughts?

    I am buying a 60" Ferris on Monday. Would the razor be your blade of choice for this years wet, fast growing grass? Have you tried the gold blades!!

    Once that baffle gets build up on it, it causes issues with ballard high lift blades. Any thoughts? Anyone?

    How are you Liking this? Whats your thoughts on the Echo 9010 vs the Stihl 800c? I noticed you had both and wanted to pick your brain on which one you like more. Bow does this Ferris compare to the backpack blowers?

    could you expand on that " clip" you had replaced? Having the same problem, pull and pull and pull, sometimes feels like its turning engine over, sometimes not. Very unpredictable and takes forever to get going. I came here looking for starting tips, nice to know I'm not the only one having problems with it.

    i like predator mower blades better than gator blades due to the 5 fin design gets me much smaller debris cuttings...the down side is if you are going to burn these smaller cut pieces...it can take days or weeks of pure smoldering i have found over the years. i have over 100 mature trees in the yards i work on. now if you are going to burn your leaves...regular high lift blade gets the quickest burn but also fills up your debris hauler very fast. low lift blades are what i use until the actual fall clean up because i like the leaves that fell early to get a couple extra whacks at being chewed up and still clearing up some of the mess in the yard, not all, because i want the fall clean up fee secured. if you are a one man operation tho, or even two man op, i suggest a bagger gets brought in for one good preemptive pick up the first time the lawn gets covered so people can see the difference and will ask for the fall final clean up...which secures your fee. now for contract customers i bag every other week once the drop starts...why? to reduce my fart around time and keeps the debris out of their entryways and patios and garages and i divy up my clean up fee for the month of october over those 4-5 weeks...they already paid for the fall clean up, this cuts down my time going into november to pick up extra clean up customers and possibility to secure new customers to fill next years line up even more. fall and spring is my toughest hardest work period because there is so much to do and so little time to do it, and you have to hit everything just perfect due to temperature restrictions such as spring preventer and fall winterizer

  • @aprilgeneric8027
    @aprilgeneric8027 5 місяців тому

    mulch blades make turbulent air flow, not clean direct thus enabling the blade extra cuts on the cut debris to decrease the size of the cuttings, they also result in windrow clumping...something you do not want to do with mostly grass cuttings

    for that lawn your talking about deep tine 10" aerate first then plus ventrac aeravator in spring before the may flowers (memorial weekend) and again in august before the fall rains which is typically labor day week end. 1 bag of overseed in the fall immediately after the aeration.weed program only in the preventer at first 50º week after tax day and before mayday if it works out, if it doesn't there is always the summer weed and feed, and the october winterization to kill the seeds of fall you didn't plant. wait6 weeks after seeding always, don't bother with weed control en masse in july, just spot spray as necessary. A&E certified with additional training from U of Oregon, U of Missouri, Cornell and UCLA, U of Minn sports turf pro management. temperature is everything, water absorption is next, plant food amount after that. 3% iron going into summer heat = deep green is sunblock for grass. change up your herbicide after every second application to knock out more types and prevent immunity = genetic adaptation as anything that survives those should be torched to prevent it's spread and hostile take over of the world...over time. great lawns take years to cultivate, there is no such thing as immediate great lawns with out $$$$$$$ like pga tour augusta national where grass grows magnificently where no grass should ever grow by laws of nature.

  • @aprilgeneric8027
    @aprilgeneric8027 5 місяців тому

    the rule of herbicides is like rattle paint spraycans. you have to shake it back up every few minutes, and i do mean a vigorous shake.... tumble if you can law of physics heavy sinks to the bottom light rises to the top, water solubles will unbind with enough calm

    Currently run Fisher Stainless 8' 6" Xreme V Plow w/wings. My backup plow is a Fisher 7' 6" SD Plow. Used to run the SD on my old half ton. Looks tiny on my 2500, but it works great. I've always kind of liked the Western Prodigy and SnowEx Speedwing Plows. Hopefully Fisher comes out with their XRS for pickup's soon. It doesn't get any easier to put on and/or take off than a Fisher MM2 Plow system.

    I had an 8’ straight blade and it was very tight doing bank drive-thrus at one property I used to have. Just this season I upgraded to a 8.5’ V-plow and that like that it gets narrower in scoop mode for such a scenario. Wings or an expansion blade just won’t do the same thing. Actually glad I didn’t go with the bigger option.

    I got my 8000 red Max which is like 80 cc's and when, three years ago I bought the heaviest duty echo which was 80 cc's or more, The echo in comparison made the other seem like a 50 cc. The arms were much wider allowing for extra volumes of air to come out and so I got both but only use the red max to give it a work out every few months. The red Max for at least ten years was the industry best I remember trying out the big stihl for comparison and said to myself, "Nah!" I'm retired, by the way. I remember in the 90's the 55 cc Stihl was the best out there and never could understand why nobody went bigger until red max did, at least with the lawn equipment available in my area I started back in 77 when all the folks that would eventually come into lawn care were still blue collar guys working at Ford

    I have owned several exmarks . They are great mowers but they are underpowered. That’s the only complaint I have. Just bought a stihl which is made by Ferris. 40 hp vanguard suspension is wonderful.

  • @itsnot1673
    @itsnot1673 10 місяців тому

    Part of the reason the stihl is heavy is because its a "4 stroke" The main issue with this and the 700 is the PLASTIC engine parts like the cam lobes and the cam gear which is a disgrace on a "commercial" engine
